
The Mountain Home High School baseball team had a tough road trip on Tuesday as they were swept in a doubleheader by Greenwood. The Bombers fell to the Bulldogs 11-5 in the opener. Mountain Home was also edged out by Greenwood 6-5 in the late game.
Elsewhere, Yellville-Summit fell to Bigelow 11-0, Vioal lost at Greers Ferry West Side 10-1, Izard County fell to Quitman 12-2, and Mountain View was toppled by Tuckerman 11-6.
Mountain Home was also swept by Greenwood on the softball diamond.
The Lady Bombers lost the first game 1-0 to the Lady Bulldogs. Emma Crabb suffered the defeat in the circle as she struck out 13 batters. Olivia Crabb, Katie Camp and Laken Anderson each went 1-for-3 at the plate.
The second game needed an extra inning to decide a winner, but Greenwood came out on top of Mountain Home 3-2. Emma Crabb struck out five batters. Karleigh Drewry was 1-for-3; and Camp, Emma Crabb and Anderson each went 1-for-4.
Mountain Home falls to 9-10 on the season and 4-6 in the 5A-West.
In other softball, Cotter lost to Valley Springs 13-1, Norfork lost a doubleheader to Greers Ferry West Side 16-1 and 21-11, Yellville-Summit fell to Marshall 6-4, Salem defeated Melbourne 13-3, Mountain View lost to Tuckerman 11-1, Bergman lost a doubleheader to Elkins 25-2 and 29-5, Harrison lost its doubleheader to Van Buren 4-0 and 1-0, and Omaha fell to Jasper 22-1.
