A few area high school baseball and softball teams were in action on Wednesday.
In baseball, Salem fell to Cave City 6-3, and Mammoth Spring lost to Marked Tree 18-5.
In softball, Salem shut out Cave City 21-0, Izard County defeated South Side-Bee Branch 7-5, and Mountain View fell to Newport 8-4.
