Hospital states first Arkansan to test positive for COVID has died

Health professionals at Jefferson Regional Medical Center state the first Arkansan diagnosed with COVID-19 in the state has died.

First diagnosed in March of 2020, James Lee Black spent around 47 days at the hospital. The hospital did not disclose the cause of death for Black.

According to KTHV, after returning from a trip to New Orleans, Black was sent to isolation after testing positive for COVID. It has been reported Black was hospitalized for over three months, spent weeks on a ventilator and months with a trach.
