The Walton Family Foundation announced Thursday they will provide a grant for a new theater building for Opera in the Ozarks located in Eureka Springs.
The press release states the $34 million grant will fund the design and construction of a facility to attract “the best of a new generation of aspiring singers and musicians.”
Opera in the Ozarks is located near Route 62 in Eureka. The new theater will seat 300, preserve the intimate audience experience of the existing facility and maintain a strong connection with the natural surroundings. In addition to the new theater, the facility will also feture a lobby for guests and an expanded costume shop. The project is also said to include new faculty housing with multi-unit cabins.
Construction will begin in May and is scheduled to be completed in mid-2025.
