Accident involving 2 semis near Salesville cleared; 1 transported to Baxter Health

An accident involving two semi trucks Friday morning on Arkansas Highway 5 South near Salesville has been cleared. An unidentified occupant of one of the trucks was transported to Baxter Health in stable condition.

According to Salesville Fire Chief Earnest Malloy, Salesville Fire and Rescue was paged just before 8 to a two-vehicle crash with an ejection. The caller stated two semis had collided head-on.

The highway was closed temporarily for wrecker equipment to pull vehicles from their resting position. Chief Malloy says the highway was reopened around 1:30 Friday afternoon.

Salesville was assisted by the Tracy and Norfork fire departments and the Baxter County Office of Emergency Management.
