
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a family dispute northeast of Ava. Deputies received reports of the suspect, identified as 60-year-old Gregory Kinkade, had allegedly threatened his family with a pistol. Upon arrival, they noticed a vehicle with numerous bullet holes in it.
Kinkade was seen going north towards Mansfield and area agencies were notified to stop and hold him if they came in contact with him. Deputies patrolled the area for the next few days, but were unsuccessful in locating Kinkade.
Four days later, the Mansfield Police Department advised authorities Kinkade had turned himself in and advised he had “shot up his brother’s car.” He was transported to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office where he was placed on a 24-hour hold. During the investigation, Kinkade admitted to shooting at the vehicle up to 15 times in rage.
Kinkade is facing multiple felony charges of unlawful use of a weapon – shooting at/from motor vehicle, at person, motor vehicle or building; domestic assault; and property damage. HE is currently being held in the Douglas County Jail on $5,000 cash bond with conditions of no alcohol; CPS supervision with twice a week alcohol testing; no firearms; and no contact with victims or residence where incident occurred.
A municipal warrant was also issued by the Ava Police Department for failure to appear and urinate/defecate in public. An additional $100 cash bond was added.
