
As Memorial Day is often known as the unofficial start of summer, it also marked the beginning of another season for the Mountain Home City Pool to be open. The pool, located inside Cooper Park, will be in operation through Sept. 4 (Labor Day).
Open swims are scheduled from 12:30 to 4:30 everyday and Monday through Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. The daily cost is $4 for swimmers, $1 for spectators and free for children 2-and-under. Season passes are available at $70 and $50 for each additional family member living in the same household. A 25-visit pass costs $55, and a 10-visit pass is $30.
Lap swims and adult open swims will be held weekdays from 9:30 to 11:30 and from 6:30 to 7:30 and Saturdays from 11:30 to 12:30. The cost is $4 or the use of a facility pass.
Water aerobics will be held at the same price as lap swims and adult open swims. Aerobics are scheduled for weekdays from 10:30 to 11:30 and 6:30 to 7:30 and Saturdays from 11:30 to 12:30.
Swim lessons will be every Monday through Thursday starting next week and continuing until Aug. 10. Thirty-minute sessions will be held at 11:30, noon, 4:30, 5:15 and 6. Lessons cost $55 per student and $50 for each additional student in the family.
The pool is also available for private parties. Two-hour sessions begin Friday evenings at 7:30 and Saturday and Sunday evenings at 5 and 7. The cost is $100 for the first 25 swimmers and $50 for 25 additional swimmers. Payment is due at the time of the reservation.
There will be two Saturdays normal pool hours will not be followed. The Mountain Home Hurricanes swim team is scheduled to host meets June 10 and July 8.
