MacLeod sweeps Sloan-Hendrix for 2nd time

The Mountain Home MacLeod American Legion baseball team had a successful home opener as they swept Sloan-Hendrix on Thursday.

MacLeod took the first game 9-6 over Sloan-Hendrix. Nate Henderson and Jaxson Wescoat led the Mountain Home offense as they each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Jordan Corbett picked up the win as he pitched the first three inning with seven strikeouts and three earned runs. Carter Adkins took the mound for the last four frames, struck out six batters and gave up no earned runs.

MacLeod later won the nightcap over Sloan-Hendrix 7-5. Isaiah Wood was the winning pitcher with a complete game, nine strikeouts and four earned runs. Mountain Home was led by Adkins as he went 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI.

MacLeod improves to 4-0 on the season, and they’ll continue their home stand Monday against Harrison.
