The Mountain Home Alley-White American Legion baseball team began its season on a rough note Sunday as they were swept on the road by Harrison.
The opening game needed an extra inning to decide a winner, but Alley-White ended up getting edged out by Harrison 5-4. Coty Foster pitched five innings for Mountain Home, struck out 11 batters and gave up one earned run. Bryce Ott led the Alley-White offense with two hits and a run scored.
Mountain Home later lost the evening session to Harrison 6-4. Will Morris suffered the defeat as he was on the mound for 2 2/3 innings. Ethen Light ended up going 2-for-2 at the plate.
Alley-White starts the season at 0-2, and they’ll travel across the state line Tuesday for an outing with Ava.
