The Humane Society of North Central Arkansas was awarded a $7,500 grant from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for animals in Baxter County and surrounding areas.

The grant is part of over $15 million in investments to power local organizations across the county. It will provide lifesaving medical care, including preparing pets for adoption with vaccinations, medications and veterinary care for pets in the shelter.

Shelter Manager Carolyn Carter states the funds will also help provide emergency medical veterinary care to low-income community pets. Carter says “Having the support of Petco Love providing much needed resources is paramount to the shelter providing for pets not only in the shelter, but in the community as well when they need it the most the most.”

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $350 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations – like ours – across North America, with 6.7 million pets adopted and counting.
