Stone County deputy injured in crash responding to call

A Stone County deputy is recovering after being injured in a crash Sunday evening while responding to a call. Stone County Sheriff Brandon Long says the deputy was expected to be released from the White County Medical Center in Batesville Monday. The deputy’s name has not been released.

Sheriff Long says the deputy was responding to a 911 call about a physical domestic situation when the accident happened on Webb Street in the city of Mountain View when the deputy’s vehicle struck another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was also taken by ambulance to an unknown hospital.

The Arkansas State Police and Mountain View Police Department are conducting the investigation into the accident.

Sheriff Long says the deputy has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
