Maple, Wood win Firecracker Par 3 Tournament at Big Creek

Brandon Maple and Jim Wood were crowned the winners of the Firecracker Par 3 Tournament at Big Creek Golf and Country Club. All four flights of Tuesday’s tournament had to be decided by tiebreakers.

Maple and Wood were one of three teams at the top of the Championship Flight with a 25-under-par 47. Steve Morris and Chris Hudson finished second after the tiebreaker, and Austin and Stephanie Sinor were third.

Four teams topped the A Flight leaderboard with a 20-under-par 52. Jonathan and Courtney Murray won the tiebreaker, Chris Webb and Zach Hutchens ended up second, Jimmy Mitchner and Rick Hurst took third place, and Aaron Mallett and Cody Linck finished fourth.

Four other teams shot a 16-under-par 56 to top the B Flight leaderboard. Ann and Paul Mace captured the tiebreaker, Scott and Dawson Tabor were second, Larry Stevens and Steve Judson ended up third, and Bill Caller and Dan Mace took fourth place.

Three teams topped the C Flight leaderboard with an 11-under-par 61. Randy Barnhill and Seth Sherrill won the tiebreaker, Rusty and Tammy Landgrebe finished second, and Adam Bailey and Derek Alexander were third.

The winners of each flight received $75, $45 went to the runners-up, and the third place finishers took home $30.
