A woman was arrested last weekend on accusations of assaulting an elderly female and striking and kicking a deputy responding to the incident. Thirty-two-year-old Myka Moore was booked last Saturday in the Baxter County Detention Center for resisting arrest, third-degree assault on a family or household member and disorderly conduct.
According to an incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, a pair of deputies arrived last Saturday morning at a residence just outside of Gassville on Cotter Road and heard a female yelling as they approached the back door. The woman, later identified as Moore, was reportedly screaming about her child’s father having a relationship with an unknown female.
One of the deputies entered the residence to speak with the victim, and the other stayed on the porch to speak to Moore. Moore reportedly refused multiple requests to give her name and continued screaming and cursing. When the deputy told Moore she was being arrested, she allegedly said she wasn’t going anywhere.
The deputy states she removed her taser from her holster and told Moore it would be used on her if she didn’t comply. The deputy reportedly tazed Moore’s left thigh, and after she jumped to her feet, she allegedly attempted to strike and kick the deputy.
The deputy inside the residence came out to assist, and Moore allegedly continued fighting both deputies. The taser was used again, and Moore reportedly complied from then on and was taken into custody.
The deputy talking to the victim told his colleague Moore had been yelling at the elderly female. The victim claimed she was struck by a purse as Moore had been throwing items in the residence.
Moore was released from the detention center on Thursday after posting a bond of $1,860.
