Alley-White gets 1st state tournament win

The Mountain Home Alley-White American Legion baseball team picked up its first victory in the Arkansas 17-and-Under State Tournament on Tuesday. After being down 8-1 early on, Alley-White made a comeback and got past Conway 11-9 on the University of Central Arkansas campus.

Maddex Chism picked up the win with 5 2/3 innings, one strikeout and 10 hits, and Bryce Ott was credited with the save as he went the final 1 1/3 innings.

Cole Tilton led the Mountain Home offense by going 2-for-2 and scoring a run. Alley-White tied the game in the sixth inning on a base hit by Erik Foster, and Easton Carter later drove in the go-ahead run with another hit.

Mountain Home improves to 13-14 on the season.
