Fulton Co. man arrested after sending woman to hospital after assaulting her

A Fulton County man has been arrested after assaulting a female which sent her to the hospital for sustained injuries.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on July 28, officers with the Salem Police Department responded to a call at the Fulton County Hospital for a report of an assault.

The victim told authorities 30-year-old Lance Goodman has been yelling at her in an attempt to allegedly provoke her into a physical altercation. She stated Goodman’s behavior as of late had made her frightened to the point she had slapped him to get away from her.

Goodman allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and lifted her off the ground to the point she could not breathe. She told officers Goodman had allegedly slammed her to the ground and stated her mother had to pull Goodman off of her to get him to stop assaulting her.

Goodman is facing one felony count of aggravated assault on a family or household member and a misdemeanor count of third-degree domestic battering. He is currently being held in the Fulton County Detention Center without bond.
