A Douglas County man is facing additional charges stemming from an incident in 2019 when he was caught allegedly trying to meet up with an underage female.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, on July 25, the Douglas County Circuit Court issued a Grand Jury indictment for 30-year-old Kristopher Lenon of West Plains stemming from a case in November 2019.

In 2019, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a male at the Casey’s in south Ava, where he was supposed to meet a 15-year-old female. The incident was filmed by 417 Predator Hunters and streamed live on Facebook. Upon arrival, deputies located Lenon, where they found marijuana in his pocket and he was placed under arrest.

Deputies spoke with individuals with 417 Predators, a group who exploits those who attempt to contact and meet young females online. They viewed messages from Lenon, which were highly suggestive, wanting to get a hotel room and meet. He also asked the juvenile if she was on birth control.

During an interview with deputies, Lenon admitted the girl he was supposed to meet was only 15 years old. His phone was turned over to the Cyber Crime Taskforce for further investigation.

Lenon, already incarcerated in the Douglas County Detention Center, faces additional felony counts of second-degree statutory rape, second-degree statutory sodomy and one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid of ten grams or less. He remains in custody with a cash-only bond of $1500.
