The Marion County Heritage Society will be hosting author Steve Coppinger Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Estes- Williams Legion Hut in Yellville. Coppinger will be promoting his newest book “AWOL at Crook’s Cabin” which tells the story of the first Arkansas state trooper to fall in the line of duty in 1948.
Recently Tony Perrin, a local crime and law enforcement historian was a guest on KTLO’s Talk of the Town with Sammy Raycraft to discuss the event and this tragic crime which occured just north of Summit AR.
