Triple digit index values return to the Twin Lakes Area Friday. A heat advisory will be in effect for all of north central Arkansas and southern Missouri starting at noon and continuing until 8.

According to the National Weather Service, heat index values will be greater than 105 degrees for all of Arkansas and will range from 100 to around 110 Friday afternoon in southern Missouri. Some parts of the Natural State may have scattered showers and thunderstorms, but they’ll mainly stay in the central and southern portions of Arkansas.

Meteorologist Willie Gilmore from the National Weather Service office in North Little Rock says anyone who has to be outdoors Friday will need to use extra caution.
