Triple digit temperatures may return Sunday, bringing potentially dangerous heat to the Twin Lakes Area.
Baxter, Fulton and Izard counties will be under an excessive heat warning Sunday and Monday from noon to 8 each day. Marion and Boone counties, the lower elevations of Searcy and Newton counties and the higher elevations of northwest Searcy County will be under a heat advisory Sunday from noon to 8 and an excessive heat warning Monday from noon to 8. Stone County and the higher elevations of southern Searcy County and Newton County will be under a heat advisory Sunday and Monday from noon to 8 each day.
In southern Missouri, Ozark, Taney and Douglas counties are under an excessive heat warning through 10 Thursday night. Howell County will be under an excessive heat warning from noon Sunday through 10 Thursday night.
Meteorologist Chuck Rickard says the current weather pattern is normally seen around the end of July and the beginning of August.
