
The Mountain Home junior varsity football team started its season Monday with a win in front of the home crowd. The J.V. Bombers doubled up Salem 28-14.
Brantlee Phillips’ two touchdown passes for Mountain Home connected with Tate Cudworth for 40 yards and Jacob Bellomy for 12. Bellomy also had a six-yard touchdown run. Defensively for the J.V. Bombers, Frank Lockhart ended up with a scoop-and-score, and Bryce Kincade and Truden Faught also each recovered a fumble.
Mountain Home starts the year at 1-0, and they’ll play their road opener next Monday at Van Buren.
