National Poll Worker Recruitment Day is Wednesday and local citizens can take part by signing up to become a poll worker in their county.
Established in 2020 by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) National Poll Worker Recruitment Day was created to inspire greater civic engagement and volunteerism, and in turn strengthen our democracy.
Recently, Baxter County & Circuit Clerk Canda Reese and County Election Coordinator Lindsay Roberts were guests on KTLO’s Talk of the Town to share more about how citizens can sign up to assist with elections as a poll worker.
Listen:
Roberts shared the requirements to be eligible to volunteer.
Listen:
Reese then spoke on how becoming a poll worker is a great way for citizens to see the process behind elections for themselves.
Listen:
When asked about how her office is dealing with recent citizen concerns over the electoral and voting process, Reese says her office is open for any questions.
