Natural gas leak in Flippin contained

A natural gas leak in Flippin has been contained.

According to a release from the City of Flippin Mayor Heath Hogan, Wednesday evening at approximately 8:28 first responders dispatched to the 100 block of West South Street for a natural gas leak.

The Flippin Fire Department along with the Flippin Police Department were able to locate a gas leak and identified the source as being a damaged gas line. The area was said to be cordoned off and residents in the immediate area were evacuated. Black Hills Energy quickly responded to the area and contained the leak.

Once the leak was contained, evacuated residents were notified and returned to their homes.

City of Flippin officials state they appreciate the rapid response of its first responders and the services of Black Hills Energy for being able to quickly contain the incident and maintain the continued safety of the community.
