Saturday night, the Ozarka College Foundation will host the Sonny Night in August fundraiser concert, featuring the Jerry Hopper Band at Ozarka College in Melbourne.
The concert will begin at 7 at the John E. Miller Auditorium and proceeds will benefit the Ozarka College Foundation along with supporting the Dennis Horton Memorial Scholarship fund. Horton, well known for his support of the art and advocacy for local musical talent, was a lifelong musician and friend of Jerry Hopper.
Tickets are $20 and available online at at foundation.ozarka.edu or at Townsend Spice & Supply in Melbourne.
This event marks the seventh anniversary of the original Sonny Night in August benefit concert and tribute to the life of community member, Son Lamb.
