A parolee is accused of taking a credit card from a woman he was living with after getting out of prison, and he’s also alleged to have returned to the residence after an order of protection was filed. Forty-two-year-old Jacob King of rural Mountain Home has been in the Baxter County Detention Center since Aug. 14 with bond set at $10,000.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim went to the Mountain Home Police Department to inquire about the order of protection. She stated King had been living with her since being paroled. The female accused him of taking her credit card without permission and using it at a local box store. He allegedly used the card on three separate purchases June 23 for a total of nearly $688.

The victim claims King admitted to taking the card when she confronted him and said he would pay her back. A Mountain Home investigator reportedly interviewed King while he was in the detention center on an unrelated charge, and he repeated his admission.

King was served with an order of protection July 31, while he was still in jail. The investigator was notified Aug. 12 he violated the order. Video surveillance captured King allegedly attempting to gain entry to the residence through the front door. He is later seen walking toward the rear of the residence and exiting through the front door.

King is facing felony counts of residential burglary and theft of property (credit/debit card) and misdemeanor counts of theft of property and violation of an order of protection.
