Boil water orders for three water associations in Stone County are now in affect for customers in the Mountain View Waterworks, Sylamore Valley Water Association and Fifty Six Waterworks.

According to the Arkansas Department of Health, on Sunday, a boil water order was issued for residents southwest of the intersection of Arkansas Highway 14 and Arkansas Highway 5 including the Allison and Government Mt. areas and all of the Sylamore Valley and Fifty-Six water systems due to a water line break.

In addition customers in the Sylamore Valley Water Association and Fifty Six Waterworks were issued a boil water order Sunday afternoon for the entire system for a water line break and again on Monday morning for a main break.

All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
