Two Baxter County residents suffered what were termed suspected minor injuries after their vehicle struck a utility pole and caught fire Thursday afternoon. Twenty-two-year-old Trenton King and 23-year-old Destiny White, both of rural Mountain Home, were transported by another vehicle to Baxter Health.

According to the report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, King was the driver of the vehicle on Old Military Road, and White was his passenger. While attempting to negotiate a curve, the vehicle reportedly traveled off the roadway, struck the pole and cut it in half. Shortly following the 3:17 p.m. accident, the vehicle caught fire from the engine bay area.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $15,000.
