This week, millions of youth, parents, volunteers and alumni come together to celebrate the youth development opportunities offered by 4-H through National 4-H Week.

This year’s campaign, “I Love 4-H” was created to rally support for Cooperative Extension’s 4-H program and identify solutions to eliminate the opportunity gaps which affects 55 millions kids across America.

4-H believes young people, in partnership with adults, can play a key role in creating a more promising and equitable future for youth, families and communities across the country.

Baxter County 4-H will observe National 4-H Week by highlighting some of the things 4-H does for the betterment of our community. By encouraging diverse voices and innovative actions, 4-H believes solutions can be found to address the educational, economic and health issues that have created the opportunity gap.

Baxter County Extension Agent, Amanda Rychtarik states “4-H is a space for kids of all abilities and ages 5-19 to feel included and successful at what they enjoy doing. There are a lot of different project options available for kids to do. Though every kid may not get a blue ribbon at the end of the day, 4-H promotes success in it’s motto ‘To Make the Best Better’. This may look like a child learning animal husbandry when taking care of their livestock or improving their public speaking while telling others about their project.”
