
The Yellville-Summit High School football team had a rough night in its Turkey Trot game on Friday. The Panthers suffered a 52-8 loss at the hands of Salem, the second-ranked team in Class 3A by the Arkansas Sports Media. Yellville-Summit falls to 4-4 on the season and 0-4 in the 3A-2, and they’ll make their final road trip of the regular season next week to Atkins. The Greyhounds improve to 8-0 and 4-0, and their next game will be in two weeks when they travel to Perryville.
Melbourne also had a tough night in front of its home crowd. The Bearkatz ended up losing to Perryville by a final of 21-7. Melbourne drops to 2-5 on the year and 1-2 in 3A-2, and they’ll go to Newport next Friday.
Harrison picked up a come-from-behind victory on the road. The Goblins were able to get past Alma by a score of 39-35. Harrison is now 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the 5A-West, and they’ll make another road trip next week to Dardanelle.
On the eight-man level, Marshall’s final home game of the season ended on a rough note. The Bobcats fell 52-14 at the hands of Mountain View, the top-ranked team in Classes 4A/3A. Marshall drops to 1-6 on the season and 0-3 in the 4A/3A-North. The Yellowjackets improve to 7-0 and 3-0.
