The high school basketball season begins Tuesday for several area teams, and Norfork will start by hosting the opening night of the Bobby D. Hulse Memorial Classic. The boys’ game between Calico Rock and Mammoth Spring tips off at 3:30, Calico Rock’s girls meet Bay at 4:30, Flippin’s boys face Bay at 5:45, and the host Panther teams will take on Kingston for a doubleheader starting with the girls at 7.
A few area teams will play in the Pangburn Tip-Off Classic. The Mammoth Spring girls will be paired with Mount Vernon-Enola at 4 in the arena, and Bergman’s boys meet Mount Vernon-Enola at 5:15. In the old gym, the Timbo High School boys face Valley Springs at 4, Valley Springs’ junior girls take on Tuckerman at 5:15, and the Bergman High School girls play Sloan-Hendrix at 6:30.
Elsewhere, Viola hosts Lead Hill, Omaha entertains Eagle Heights, Ozark Mountain is home against Alpena, and Jasper hosts Eureka Springs.
