A Mountain Home man pled guilty to charges in two criminal cases during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court last Monday and was sentenced to four years in prison.

Thirty-seven-year-old Joshua Lloyd was charged in one case with selling methamphetamine to a person working with law enforcement and in another for taking and using credit cards.

Lloyd was a fugitive for about seven months and his cases were inactive until he was picked up and jailed.

BAXTER COUNTY CASES

In his Baxter County cases, Lloyd is charged with taking a man’s wallet and using credit cards found inside to make various purchases.

The victim reported the missing wallet to Mountain Home police June 4, 2021 and said he might have lost it as far back as the end of May 2021.

He said after discovering the wallet missing, he checked his credit card accounts and found many of the cards had been used between May 29 and June 4, 2021.

When investigators checked video surveillance footage from one of the businesses, a suspect could not be immediately identified.

The victim reported usage of another card during the same period at several locations. The surveillance cameras at one of those locations did allow investigators to identify Lloyd as the one using the stolen cards.

Police said Lloyd returned the wallet and cards that he had used.

In addition to prison time, Lloyd was ordered to pay slightly more $2,000 in victim restitution.

The alleged drug sale took place in March last year when a confidential informant purchased a small quantity of methamphetamine from Lloyd.
