The Marion County Collector’s Office announced Wednesday the books have been closed for 2022 personal and real estate taxes. They state any real or personal property taxes paid after Oct. 16 are considered delinquent and a 10% penalty will be applied.
The Collector’s Office asks residents to call before making a payment to confirm the amount due. They state they can no longer accept checks on delinquent accounts and a processing fee will apply to payments made by credit or debit card. Cash, money order or cashier’s check are accepted and payments can be made in person or over the phone with a credit card.
