Basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule and includes Mountain Home’s three junior high boys’ teams meeting Harrison on the home floor to begin their season. The Junior Bombers’ previous year came to an end in the opening round of the Northeast Arkansas District Tournament with a loss to West Memphis Wonder. The seventh grade game tips off at 4:30 followed by the eighth grade and freshman contests.
Mountain Home’s three junior high girls’ teams will also compete against Harrison, but their games will be on the road. The seventh grade game starts at 4:30, and the eighth grade and freshman contests will follow.
On the high school level, three area teams will compete on the second day of the Jake Gray Invitational Tournament. On the girls’ side, Melbourne faces Rogers Heritage at 5, and the host Lady Tigers take on Clinton at 7:30. Valley Springs’ boys play Clinton at 6:15.
Elsewhere, Cotter travels to Green Forest, Norfork makes the short trip to Calico Rock, Flippin’s boys head to Paragould for a benefit game with Greene County Tech, Yellville-Summit hosts Lead Hill, Viola entertains Ozark Mountain, Salem is home against Highland for two girls’ games, Marshall travels to Guy-Perkins, Timbo makes the trip to Greers Ferry to meet West Side, Rural Special hosts Shirley, Bergman entertains Alpena, and Jasper heads to Mount Judea.
