An area high school senior will be a two-sport athlete on the collegiate level next year. Salem’s Marleigh Sellars signed a national letter of intent on Wednesday to join the women’s basketball and track and field programs at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
Sellars’ second semester as a junior ended up with several accomplishments. She helped lead the Lady Greyhounds’ basketball team to the Class 3A state championship and was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
Sellars followed that up in May with four Class 3A state titles in track. She won the 100-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter dashes and was part of the team that won the 4×200-meter relay.
