The Mountain Home High School basketball team opened the Border Battle on a winning note Friday at Kickapoo High School in Springfield. The Lady Bombers picked up a 60-44 win over Willard.
Throughout the game, Mountain Home’s lead on the Lady Tigers increased slow and steady. The Lady Bombers were up nine at the end of the first quarter and 14 at halftime. Mountain Home was able to keep its double digit advantage for much of the game as they went on to win by 16.
Laykin Moore led the Lady Bombers with 15 points, and Whitten Coleman and Jayla Yonkers added 12 each. For Willard, Elise Murray scored 19 points.
Mountain Home improves to 4-1 on the season. The Lady Tigers begin their season at 0-1.
