The Gainesville R-V School District was recently awarded the Stronger Connections Grant which provides nearly $400,000 in funding to support the district. The funds are to be used to create stronger connections with community support systems for the elementary and high school students. Additional student support staff including Community Resource Specialists will be hired as well as student assemblies and information all in an effort to support students mental health.
Superintendent Justin Gilmore shares further details on how the grant will assist the students.
Gilmore says his dedicated staff worked hard to secure this grant that was only awarded to 38 schools in the state.
