
Saturday’s high school basketball schedule includes makeup games for Mountain Home. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will have their first road test of the conference slate as they meet Van Buren.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently in a tie for fifth in Class 5A in the latest rankings by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Lady Bombers are 13-5 on the season and 2-0 in the 5A-West after beating up on Harrison on Tuesday. Van Buren is 13-5 and 1-1. The Lady Pointers are coming off a 31-point loss at Greenwood.
The Mountain Home boys are 14-4 on the year and 2-0 in the league. The Bombers picked up an overtime win over Harrison three days ago. Van Buren is 13-5 and 2-0 after beating up on Greenwood on Tuesday.
The junior varsity girls’ game tips off at 2 at Claire Bates Arena followed by the J.V. boys’ contest. The varsity games will start around 4 and will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Elsewhere, two area girls’ teams will square off in the championship game of the Kell Classic at Swifton. Izard County and top-seeded Mammoth Spring will tip off at 6.
