A Calico Rock man has been arrested after Homeland Security contacted local law enforcement with information about him receiving large amounts of suspected illegal pharmaceuticals via international packages. Arrested following the investigation is 55-year-old Wayne Anthony Post who was found with over 200,000 illegal pills and over 10,000 rounds of ammunition.

According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, an employee at a packing and shipping business in Republic, Missouri had become suspicious of a trans-shipment scheme of international parcels shipped from India containing illegal drugs received Jan. 8 addressed to Post and contacted Homeland Security. Post had rented a mailbox at the business to receive the packages, would have them consolidated and then trans-shipped to his home in Calico Rock. Records show Post has received over 500 packages at the address since last March.

Homeland Security learned a package was to be delivered to Post via United Parcel Service Jan. 9 believed to contain illegal drugs. Little Rock Police found the package at the UPS facility in Little Rock and a narcotics K-9 positively alerted to the presence of narcotics in the box. A search warrant was obtained and 37 individual boxes of illegal drugs were found inside.

Later on Jan. 9, members of Homeland Security, the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force, the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, Independence County Sheriff’s Office, Batesville Police Department and the 3rd District Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Post’s residence in Calico Rock.

Law enforcement found cameras viewing the outside of the residence and Post had multiple Pitbull dogs in the house. A computer was receiving live emails when officers arrived about shipments. Some of the folders on the computer were labeled crypto, tracking, cashapp, craigslist account and NASDAQ.

There were five 24-gallon moving bags loaded with pills found in the house. In all, over 202,000 illegal pills were found, weighing 141 pounds.

There were multiple Priority Mail boxes found that had been sent to Post’s address.

Two way radios were found on a window sill and turned on.

Two jars of marijuana and a package of marijuana seeds were found along with a make shift marijuana grow and grow lights.

A loaded pistol was found beside the bed. In a closet, officers found two revolvers, other firearms and over 10,000 rounds of ammunition. In another room, officers found a replica 9 millimeter Uzi with a magazine and ammunition.

Post told law enforcement he receives the packages in the mail and ships them out for someone else.

Post is facing three class Y felonies, the most serious crimes in Arkansas not punishable by the death penalty. They include trafficking a schedule IV controlled substance, trafficking Fentanyl, and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Other felony charges include maintaining a drug premises, illegal use of a communication device and possession of a schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana) with purpose to deliver.

He is being held in the Izard County Detention Center on a half million dollar bond.
