The West Plain Police Department is investigating a traffic incident involving a pedestrian Thursday night.
According to a press release from the West Plains Police Department, at approximately 5:34 officers responded to a traffic incident at the intersection of Porter Wagoner and 7th Street in West Plains.
Officers report a 26-year-old female was crossing the roadway on foot when she was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Porter Wagoner. The pedestrian was in the roadway during the collision and was on in a designated crosswalk. She was transported to Cox Medical Center in Springfield with critical injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
