Junior high basketball makes up much of the local Wednesday schedule as postseason play continues.
Three local teams will wrap up the opening round of the 2A-1 Junior District Tournament at Greenland. Cotter’s girls face the host Junior Lady Pirates at 4. On the boys’ bracket, Yellville-Summit takes on Eureka Springs at 5:15, and Cotter plays Greenland at 7:45.
The 3A-1 Junior District Tournament will conclude its first round at Elkins. On the girls’ side, Flippin and West Fork tip off at 4, and Valley Springs will be paired with the host Junior Lady Elks at 6:30. The Valley Springs boys face West Fork at 5:15.
Mammoth Spring’s girls will play their opener in the 1A-3 Junior District Tournament at Ridgefield Christian High School in Jonesboro. The Junior Lady Bears take on the host Junior Lady Warriors at 5.
Both of Melbourne’s teams will see the floor as they continue to host the 3A-2 Junior District Tournament. The Junior Lady Bearkatz play Cave City at 4, and the Melbourne boys will be matched up with Mountain View at 7:45.
The 1A-1 East Junior District Tournament will hold its semifinal round at Mount Judea. In the boys’ games, Omaha faces Alpena at 5:30, and Jasper takes on Kingston at 7:30. Omaha’s girls play Jasper at 6:30.
