A Stone County man who was charged with four counts of first degree murder for the killings of his parents and their neighbors was sentenced to 60 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections Thursday as part of a plea agreement with the state. Fifty-six-year-old Donnie Lee Trammell of Mountain View admitted to the killings and also pled guilty to possession of firearms by certain persons.
Trammell killed his parents, 75-year-old William Clinton Trammell and 72-year-old Sharon Trammell, along with their neighbors, 77-year-old Shirley Watters and 55-year-old James Watters.
The shooting deaths happened April 20, 2022. His parents were shot in their home on Arkansas Highway 5 south of Mountain View. The Watters were shot in their home on Northcutt Road, just off Highway 5.
As part of the plea agreement, Trammel was found guilty by the court of charges he had pending in other court cases, but was given no prison time for them. The charges included two counts of aggravated residential burglary, theft of property greater than $25,000, having an illicit still, and two counts of possession of firearms by certain persons.
