A scam is being reported by the Izard County Sheriff’s Office. The scam, similar to one reported recently by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, includes victims being told they have a warrant for missing jury duty.

According to a Facebook post, someone is allegedly “spoofing” the Izard County Sheriff’s Office phone number when making phone calls. The suspect will claim to be a sheriff’s detective and tell victims about the warrant.

Anyone receiving a similar call is urged not to give out a credit or debit card number or to call any of the phone numbers given during the scam attempt. Izard County residents getting the call should contact the sheriff’s office at 870-368-4203.
