Mtn. Home’s junior girls finish 2nd, boys end up 3rd in NEA Conference Meet

Mountain Home’s junior high track teams were at Bomber Stadium on Monday as they hosted the Northeast Arkansas Conference Meet.

The Junior Lady Bombers finished second in the team results as the victory went to Douglas MacArthur from Jonesboro.

Individually for Mountain Home, Cisily Goettler won the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs; Brooklyn Fischer won the 400-meter dash; Makenna Miller won the pole vault; Caylee Simmons was second in the 800-meter run; Megan Hale ended up second in the pole vault; Annyston Crooker took second place in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 100-meter hurdles; Jocelyn Green finished second in the 100-meter hurdles, third in the triple jump and fifth in the 300-meter hurdles; Eliana Pepin was second in the high jump and fifth in the triple jump; Bailee Schaffner ended up third in the pole vault; Makenzie Kotlowski took third place in the shot put; Brook Bertalotto finished fourth in the 1600-meter run; Addison McCarn was fourth in the long jump; Ashley Smith ended up fifth in the 1600-meter run; Audrey Birkhimer took fifth place in the high jump; and Gracie Miller finished fifth in the discus. The team of Mayce Carlson, McCarn, Goettler and Fischer was second in the 4×400-meter relay; Smith, Birkhimer, Christieann Stickles and McCarn ended up third in the 4×800-meter relay; and Pepin, Shayn Whickersham, Carlson and Miller took fifth place in the 4×100-meter relay.

The Junior Bombers finished third on the boys’ side. MacArthur also won the boys’ team title.

For Mountain Home, Gus Wilber was second in the 300-meter hurdles and the long jump and tied for fourth place in the high jump, William Tucker ended up second in the pole vault, Eason Recktenwald took second place in the discus, Levi Payne finished third in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, Kayden Sabo was third in the long jump and fourth in the 400-meter dash, Davin Reasons ended up fourth in the 110-meter hurdles, Brody Brown took fourth place in the triple jump, Oakley Recktenwald finished fifth in the 1600-meter run, and Zach Dooley was fifth in the pole vault. The team of Brown, Russell Hargett, Sabo and Wilber ended up third in the 4×400-meter relay; Garret Watts, Conner Gentry, Jonny Krueger and Benjamin Clark took fifth place in the 4×200-meter relay; and Sam Rodriguez, Skylar Moore, Jonah Hartman and Ryan Cooper finished fifth in the 4×800-meter relay.
