
The Humane Society of North Central Arkansas will receive a $5,000 grant from the national nonprofit organization Petco Love to support their lifesaving work for animals in Baxter County and surrounding areas.
Carolyn Carter, Shelter Manager of the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas, says “This investment from Petco Love is important to the pets at the shelter. It will help provide lifesaving medical care, including preparing for adoption with lifesaving vaccinations, medications and veterinary care for the pets in need who find their safe haven in our shelter. It will also help emergency veterinary care for pets in our community in low-income families. Having the support of Petco Love providing needed resources is paramount to the shelter providing for pets not only in the shelter but in the community as well when they need it most.”
Petco Love, a national nonprofit leading change for pets to make communities and pet families closer, stronger and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $380 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. Petco Love helps find homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations across North America with 6.8 million pets adopted.
The Human Society of North Central Arkansas is a nonprofit organization and animal shelter serving Baxter County and 25 miles of surrounding areas. Since 1976, the Human Society has been a safe haven for thousands of pets in need. Providing lifesaving vaccinations, food and water, a warm and safe place to sleep and necessary medical care for pets who were in imminent need, as well as services to the low-income community in the form of vouchers to assist with spraying, neutering, pet food, etc.
