The Cotter High School baseball program will have new leadership for the 2025 season. During last month’s regular session, the Cotter School Board voted to hire Rory Davis as the Warriors’ head coach. He will also serve as the athletic director and teach some physical education and driver’s education classes.

Davis is currently in his second year as a teacher and an assistant coach in Houston, Mo. He says he has found it beneficial to have worked with Tigers’ head coach Brent Hall for the last two seasons.

Davis is inheriting a Cotter program that just finished the regular season as the 2A-1 conference co-champions and is beginning its run in the regional tournament Thursday. The Warriors have had their share of success over the years, and Davis is looking to continue that tradition when he takes the helm.

Davis’ first official day on the job will be July 1, but he will be in Cotter before that time. Davis will be assisting current Warriors’ head coach Jarod Jefferson with their fall team of players ages 13 to 15.

Jefferson will stepping away from the baseball program as he is being promoted to principal at Cotter High School beginning in the upcoming school year.
