Mountain Home educator, Freddy Penka, has been named the 2024 Educator of the Year by the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation. Penka is the Outdoor Adventures instructor at Pinkston Middle School.
Penka spoke with KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News to discuss what students experience within the outdoors curriculum.

Penka states they have been able to tailor the program to utilizing the resources the Twin Lakes Area provides. He says as the program moves along, he hopes to add camping and hiking.
Before the program started three years ago, Penka did not know how many students would want to be involved, but sees the excitement when they get involved.
