Hannaford, Fosness sign with ASUMH

Two Mountain Home High School seniors will be staying in the Twin Lakes Area to continue their athletic careers on the junior college level. Jett Hannaford signed a national letter of intent to join the baseball program at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home, and Ava Fosness will play for the Trailblazer softball team.

Hannaford says he has had a desire to play college baseball since he was six years old.

Hannaford is getting ready to help lead the baseball team to the Class 5A State Tournament in Harrison on Thursday. Throughout his career as a Bomber, he has been able to maintain a batting average of over .300. He also excelled on the football field as he broke several school receiving records.

Hannaford says his time on the diamond and the gridiron has helped prepare him for the next level.

Jett is the son of TJ and Tracy Hannaford of Mountain Home.

Fosness, who is finishing her lone year at Mountain Home after relocating from Minnesota, says she always knew she wanted to play college softball.

Fosness was an integral part of a Lady Bomber softball team that will enter the state tournament on Thursday after finishing as the 5A-West co-runners-up. She was also a member of the Mountain Home basketball team and received the Brenda Yancey Loyalty Award during Monday’s postseason banquet.

Fosness says the support she has received on the high school level has been crucial in her decision to play for ASU-Mountain Home.
