MacLeod sweeps Harrison in makeup doubleheader

The Mountain Home MacLeod American Legion baseball team wrapped up its season-opening home stand on a successful note. After being rained out on Friday, MacLeod was able to sweep a makeup doubleheader over Harrison on Sunday.

Mountain Home took the first game 15-7. Koen Bickford started the first three innings on the mound, struck out five batters and gave up one hit and three runs. Owen Morris pitched the final four innings, recorded four strikeouts and gave up six hits and four runs. Offensively, Eric Foster and Rowan Askew were each 2-for-5 with three RBIs, Truitt Lindsey went 2-for-3 and drove in a run, Ford Coleman was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Bickford went 1-for-2 and drove in a run.

Aidan Shrable pitched a five-inning no-hitter in the late game as MacLeod shut out Harrison 11-0. Shrable ended up with four strikeouts. Will Roz led the Mountain Home offense by going 2-for-3 and driving in three runs, Foster had a double and two RBIs, Owen Morris went 1-for-2 and drove in a run, and Askew was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

MacLeod improves to 4-1 on the season, and they’ll have their first road trip of the season Tuesday at Imboden.
