
A Baxter County woman was taken into custody following the report of a stolen vehicle. Fifty-six-year-old Susan Brown is facing charges of theft of property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, improper parking and driving without a license.
According to the incident report, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an unauthorized use of vehicle on June 9. The caller stated Brown had taken his father’s vehicle from their residence without permission. The victim, who was found to be in the hospital, identified Brown as his girlfriend. The caller also stated Brown did not have a drivers license, was intoxicated and had taken two debit cards and three credit cards. The victim confirmed he did not give Brown permission to use his vehicle and they had broken up earlier in the week. A be on the lookout (BOLO) was issued for the vehicle.
Later in the night, deputies were informed the vehicle had been located at motel in Mountain Home. Brown was found in one of the rooms and placed into custody. Deputies stated Brown admitted to driving the vehicle to the motel. During the search, deputies found a debit card with the victim’s name on it.
Brown was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, improper parking, theft of property and driving without a license. She is currently being held on at $2500 bond.
