With the recent resignation of Bob Chester from the Mountain Home Public Schools Board of Education, the remaining Board members are charged with appointing a replacement according to district policy 1.2.
The Board will conduct candidate interviews during its regular meeting on July 18 where applicants will be asked several questions about their qualifications and what they hope to bring to the table as a Board member.
School Board President Lisa House said she is interested in community members submitting potential questions to ask the applicants. House states “This appointed Board member will serve the community, so I think it makes sense to have the community provide input toward the interview process.”
Questions for the candidates can be dropped off at the district office located at 2465 Rodeo Drive during business hours or submitted to the superintendent’s office through email at adewey@mhbombers.com. Question submissions are due by Friday at noon.
As of Tuesday morning, four individuals have submitted applications for consideration. They are Robert Anthony “Tony” Chamberlain, Tommy Knight, Cheyla Leaming and Marsha Partney.
Those interested in applying must submit their application digitally or to the district administrative office by noon Friday.
Applicants will be contacted through email by Tuesday with more information about their interviews. The meeting, including the interviews, will be open to the public and streamed on the Board’s YouTube channel.
