The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) will release nearly 700 permits to participate in special deer hunts at Arkansas wildlife management areas (WMA) beginning Monday morning at 9. These permits cover modern gun, alternative firearms, youth hunts and mobility impaired hunts that weren’t awarded through the AGFC annual WMA deer permit drawing.

Hunters may purchase one permit for each of the remaining WMA permit hunts with no limit. Many of the remaining hunts are on the same days, so hunters should be aware of the date and location of each hunt. Permits will cost five dollars each.

There are 214 leftover modern gun permits covering three WMAs, 50 youth permits covering four WMAs, 28 mobility impaired permits at Freddie Black Choctaw Island WMA on Oct. 19-21 and 400 alternative firearm permits covering seven WMAs.

Leftover permits are sold on a first come, first served basis and may be purchased online at www.agfc.com.
